In 1998, the NALC’s active membership peaked at 243,000 carriers.

In 1998, the size of the entire Postal Service peaked at 730,000 employees.

                               

One in every three postal employees is a letter carrier.

 

30% of the NALC membership is made up of retirees.

70% of the NALC membership is made up of active letter carriers.

 

92.2% of the letter carriers are union members
